We have
experienced the joyful and satisfying alpaca business for the past ten
years. We love the whole array of facets: breeding, birthing, raising,
nurturing, showing our alpacas, and most of all, we have appreciated
the delightful relationships we have had with our beloved alpacas.
However, after 10 years of raising alpacas, we have developed some health issues that have caused us to make some changes in our life. We are currently down-sizing our herd, and are planning to phase out of the business. Our entire herd that we have carefully grown over the years is for sale; it
includes a variety of diverse genetics from several well-known
herdsires.
We have a range of quality
alpacas at different ages and prices. This is a great opportunity to
add new genetics to your herd or begin a new farm. Please check our
listings as we update their prices. We look forward to helping you live your alpaca dream.
As of August 2010, we have sold a number of our alpacas, including our beloved Dom Savone who has been with our farm since its beginning in the summer of 2000. We are deeply appreciative of the many years we have had with this beautiful male and are grateful for his cria who have blessed our lives. We express our thanks to Don Kent of Tall Corn Alpacas and Patti Jennings of Willow Bend Alpacas Farm for their purchase of Dom Savone, may he grace your farm with his presence and give you much joy!
At Spirit Song Alpacas, it takes time to give birth to beauty, but the faces of the future, speak for themselves.

Each generation brings forth beauty
in a unique way;
and each new life opens our hearts
to the beauty all around us.
In the midst of life's changes, our alpacas have given us a kind of stability, which has grown out our commitment to these gentle animals and to a way of life. Even though we are selling our herd, the ways that our lives have been shaped by the daily rhythm of alpaca tending have become a part of us. They have taught us to be attentive to the details of life: the importance of water and good nutrition; the subtle changes that occur when one's health is not quite right; that one's behavior can communicate a lot of information to those who listen and observe; that it takes time and much patience when waiting for a dam to give birth, and the signs of her approaching delivery may not always be obvious or dramatic; and perhaps most important, when the basic needs of our existence are covered, life is very good.
We are conveniently located one hour north of Minneapolis and St. Paul, Minnesota. To schedule a farm visit, please call or email us.
