If you are thinking about getting alpacas, this workshop will provide you with the information that you need to care for your alpacas and provide some hands-on experience of haltering and leading alpacas. There will opportunities to work directly with the alpacas; learn how to administer medication; and trim toenails. We will also discuss nutrition, deworming protocols, and how to create an alpaca friendly farm. You will have the opportunity to tour both our farms and see how we manage our herds. Sunrise River Alpacas is a larger operation and has two barns; while Spirit Song Alpacas has a smaller herd that is located in one barn.
Come with your questions. We look forward to introducing you to our herds, and providing you with an experience of working with these delightful animals that we have raised for over ten years. Lunch is included in registration.
